Good Start
2 training runs completed so far.
1. 7km approx easy run to get the legs going after a long Sunday run. Started badly with both calves 'popping' as soon as I started. So I aborted the hilly course planned and just kept it as simple as possible. Without a watch I did not know how long I had been running, but decided to go to my close by 650m loop flatish. First lap OK, 2nd a little quicker, 3rd feeling good and strong, 4th lap (after convincing myself it was a good idea) quicker again. So for 2.5km to finish it was a Kenyan style section. Felt pretty good, calves pulled up OK.
2. Street Orienteering - entered the A course or 10km. Joined an experienced mate, who was also a quicker runner, so not sure if this was the right combo..... Anyway, we got to the 18 required checkpoints (of 20 on offer), running for 49min. A Google earth measure showed 10.34km, the winner ran a course of 9.6km so not too far off. We ended in 5th place.
So far so good.

That street orienteering sounds like great fun! Never come across it here... but thats not to say it doesn't exist! Well done!
