Exercise at home....

Well the new piece of hired equipment has been with us for just over a week now.
The rower / cycle combo has been used several times in that week. Both my wife and I have used it at least 4 times each, which I think is a good start. For K it is her main source of exercise so it is great to see her sweat it up a few times a week, in time she will see the benefits.

For me once you combine running, cricket, exercise machine, there are not many days when I do nothing, so I am happy about that. Currently I do about 20min sessions on the machine, reading is 7-8k's so that is my benchmark. I try to ensure that I work hard for at least part of the session, and don't just cruise through.

Running has not been regular except for my Friday mornings, but with the good weather and longer days, I'm hopeful of some more, if I can get 2-3 runs in a week, it will be a good result for the time being.

I should have got myself organised to meet the crew from Ausrun on Sunday, but missed the boat, or rather missed the run.

So far so good, money well spent - after 1 week at least.

2 in a row!!

Game 5.

One day match. A few quality players were available for the game so our side looked strong.
We lost the toss and were asked to bowl. I gave another bowler the down wind end. First over -9 runs, the first time a side has gone after us early. In my first over we dropped a high ball that should have been caught, from there it got worse, within my first 4 overs we dropped 3 catches.
The first wicket didn't fall till the 18th over, the score was 68. From there we fought back, some quick wickets fell and with a few over remaining we were looking OK. Then the advantage of wickets in hand showed as they put on 40 odd runs in the last 6 overs. Final score 6/158.

We started well, I knew we had a long batting line-up so it was a case of a few good partnerships and a couple of good scores. Our openers did the job, first wicket at 101 in the 21st over. Run rate was good, wickets held ok. One scored 66, another 47no. We passed the score in the 30th over, batted on for another 3 overs, final score 4/188, a convincing win. BTW- the opposing team dropped as many catches as we did, so if we had all held our catches it might have been a different day all together.

Next game over 2 weeks against a usually strong club, so hopefully our good form continues.
